TYPES OF FRACTIONS-

1. Like Fractions- Two or more fractions that have the same denominators are known as like fractions.

                              Example- 4/12 , 9/12

2. Unlike Fractions- Fractions that have different denominators are known as unlike fractions.

                              Example- 7/8  ,  4/6

3. Unit Fraction- A fraction with numerator 1 is known as unit fraction.

                            Example-  1/8  ,   1/12

4. Proper Fraction - If in a fraction, the numerator is less than its denominator then the fraction is known as proper fraction.

                            Example- 3/4  ,  2/5

5. Improper Fraction- If in a fraction, the numerator is greater than or equal to its denominator then the fraction is known as improper fraction.

                            Example- 7/4   ,  5/2

6. Mixed Fraction- A fraction that has both a whole number and a fractional part is known as mixed fraction.
