Fractions- A fraction is a part of the whole.

Types of Fractions- 

1. Like Fractions- Two or more fractions that have the same denominators are known as like fractions.

2. Unlike Fractions- Fractions that have different denominators are known as unlike fractions.

3. Unit Fractions- A fraction with numerator 1 is known as a unit fraction.

4. Proper Fraction- If in a fraction, the numerator is less than its denominator then the fraction is known as proper fraction.

5. Improper Fraction- If in a fraction, The numerator is greater than or equal to its denominator then the fraction is known as improper fraction.

6. Mixed Fraction- A fraction that has both a whole number and a fractional part is known as mixed fraction.

Equivalent Fractions- Fractions representing the same value or same part of an object are called equivalent fractions.
