  • SIMPLE MACHINES-INTERNAL ASSESSMENT(10 MARKS) 
  • TO BE DONE IN PORTFOLIO/ SCRAPBOOK/A4 SIZE PAPER TO BE ENCLOSED IN FOLDER IF NOT HAVING PORTFOLIO

  • LEARNING OUTCOMES
  •  identify and demonstrate simple machines used in day to day life 
  • explain the type of simple machines

Materials Needed (to be sourced by the students): glue, pen, safety scissors, materials used in day to day life that are examples of simple machines (materials may vary as per students discretion or availability)

Guidelines for the activity: Note: Provide guidelines well in advance so that students get ample time for collecting the materials. 
Prior preparation for the activity: • Instruct the students to: → observe different objects at home or surrounding places (like shops or parks etc), that are examples of the following types of simple machines 
 Inclined Plane
  Wedge 
 Class one lever 
 Class two lever
  Class three lever 
 Wheel and Axle
  Screw → click pictures of each of them (demonstrate the use of the simple machines wherever possible) [to be done under adult supervision] → images given below for reference:



STUDENTS CAN ALSO DRAW OR STICK PICTURES.
NOTE→ the pictures of the simple machines should not be the same as those given in the textbook
